(NEWS10) -- On Tuesday, Governor Kathy Hochul spoke at the New Amsterdam Apartments along with other elected and apartment officials to highlight the efforts behind the apartment's grand opening, affordable housing, and more. Hochul spoke with Amsterdam Mayor Michael Cinquanti and Bruce Levine. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Hochul detailed $406M in financing to develop affordable housing. She also pointed out the difference local governments can make to meet the demand of communities looking to grow. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - An Overland man is accused of threatening his pregnant partner with a firearm and striking her in the face.According to a report by the Overland Police Department, the incident happened on July 23 at a home in the 9000 block of Midland Boulevard. Responding officers had been notified of a domestic abuse situation at the residence.Police claim Tyrone Mitchell, 33, pointed a gun at his eight-months pregnant partner during an argument and told her, "I will kill you," before smacking her in the face. The victim had a visible busted lip. ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. - An investigation is underway after a motorcyclist died in a weekend crash near Creve Coeur city limits. The St. Louis County Police Department reports that Keith Kalemis, 62, of St. Charles, Missouri, died in the crash. Next of kin has been notified. The crash happened around 9 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Warson Road and Warshire Drive. Illinois family still shaken after vandals poured oil into their pool, breaking window Investigators say Kalemis was heading southbound on Warson Road as a driver in a GMC Acadia was turning northbound onto Warson from Warshire Drive. This led to a collision near the intersection. Kalemis was rushed to a hospital shortly after the crash, but later died from his injuries. Police say the driver of the GMC remained on the scene and was not hurt. Additional details around the crash are limited. ST. LOUIS - Fans will have the opportunity to meet young Cardinals slugger Nolan Gorman this Friday at Schnucks in Crestwood. Gorman will visit the Schnucks to meet and greet fans, pose for photos and sign pre-printed photos. He is scheduled to visit the Schnucks at 9540 Watson Road from 11 a.m. to noon Friday. The visit comes as Schnucks looks to promote its new Cherry Cardinals Crunch ice cream. Fans will also have a chance to sample the ice cream. Schnucks says Gorman will only be signing pre-printed photos for a select number of fans. The grocer will also award two tickets to Friday's St. Louis Cardinals game for one lucky person who attends. Eight businesses have recently received warnings for hosting marijuana-related activities in Denver without the required license, with a separate ticket issued to Tetra Lounge.On Saturday, the city investigated multiple locations after receiving complaints of illegal events taking place, said Eric Escudero, spokesperson for Denver Department Of Excise And Licenses. Officials issued a general violation ticket to the operator of Tetra Lounge at 3039 Walnut St. “for necessity of a license to operate,” he added.Tetra Lounge didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are working to identity a man found dead inside a 55-gallon drum in Malibu Lagoon on Monday. A park maintenance worker first saw the barrel floating in the water near the Pacific Coast Highway bridge on Sunday night, and when they tried to drag it to shore, it was too heavy, so they left it in the water. When a lifeguard arrived at work on Monday and spotted the barrel around 10 a.m., they swam to retrieve it. That’s when they made the gruesome discovery, according to LASD.“It didn’t look decomposed or like it had been there for a long time,” said Lt. Hugo Raynaga. Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Two Vehicles Near Park Boulevard On-RampOAKLAND, CA (August 1, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, a pedestrian-auto collision on Highway 13 involving two vehicles left a man dead.The incident happened on July 30th, at around 1:17 a.m., along Highway 13 near Park Boulevard.After receiving reports of a man crawling near the Park Boulevard onramp, police were dispatched to the area.Upon arrival, the CHP learned that the man was walking in the lanes of Highway 13.
