(KRON) -- Two people have been arrested and charged in connection to a road rage incident that killed a man from Carmel, the California Highway Patrol said. VIDEO: Car crashes into Redwood City home Nicholas Krenke, 32, of Monterey was booked into Monterey County Jail on a felony hit-and-run charge on July 18. On July 25, Jenny R. Lesch, 45, of Carmel Valley turned herself into the Monterey Police Department on charges including hit-and-run, assault and reckless driving. (KRON) -- A home invasion robbery in Oakland ended in an exchange of gunfire between the resident and two suspects, according to the Oakland Police Department. On Thursday, July 27, at around 2 a.m. two armed individuals forced their way into a residence on the 11100 block of Ettrick Street. The resident, police said, feared for their safety and fired one round at one of the people who had forced their way into the home.The two individuals fired multiple rounds at the resident and then fled the area, police said. (BCN) -- Those with overdue payments from toll violations on Bay Area bridges can now take advantage of new programs designed to make paying off late fees easier, said the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. Bay Area FasTrak now offers payment plan programs open to any low-income residents who have received toll violations on bridges or express lanes. Tesla crashes with teen behind the wheel in Santa Rosa Those who qualify for the program can have their violation penalties waived and pay off any remaining balance of at least $100 with a payment plan, according to a MTC press release. Additionally, the Bay Area Toll Authority now offers one-time full or partial penalty waivers through September 2024, which are open to anyone regardless of income level. (KRON) -- One man was arrested and a stolen firearm and drug paraphernalia were seized in a traffic stop in Livermore last week, according to the Livermore Police Department. Officers conducted a traffic stop on Wednesday, July 26 at around 1 a.m. on a 2015 Cadillac for vehicle code violations, including expired tags.The Cadillac was stopped on Airway Boulevard near Clubhouse Drive. VIDEO: Car crashes into Redwood City home Police said the driver, 59-year-old Michael Silva of Livermore, was a convicted felon and had a suspended license for DUI. LOS ANGELES (AP) — UCLA has promoted Nate Georgeton to assistant on coach Mick Cronin’s basketball staff and added two assistants.Georgeton has spent the last four seasons at UCLA as video coordinator and the team’s director of student-athlete development. He replaces Ivo Simovic, who left after one year to be an assistant with the NBA’s Toronto Raptors.Nemanja Jovanovic and Brendyn Taylor were added to the staff. Jovanovic will serve as both an assistant and director of international recruiting. He has had stints at UT Arlington, DePaul and SMU.Taylor spent the last two seasons as a grad assistant at St. John’s. At UCLA, he will help with player development, scouting and oversee a mentoring program for incoming freshmen.
